The formula
pip value = contract size × pip size × lots
- The result is in the instrument's quote currency (the second currency of a pair, or the CFD's currency).
- To convert it: if your account currency is the base of the linking pair (EUR account, EURUSD), divide by the pair's price; if it is the quote (JPY account, USDJPY), multiply.

Notes
- Pip value on pairs quoted in a currency other than your account currency changes with the exchange rate, so recalculate occasionally.
- Index, oil and crypto contracts vary by broker. Edit the contract size to match your symbol specification.
- There is no live price feed on this page. When the instrument's quote currency differs from your account currency, enter today's rate for the linking pair; the default is an example rate.

Frequently asked questions
Why is a pip on USDJPY worth less than on EURUSD?
Both pip values are 1,000 units of the quote currency per lot divided down from 100,000 × pip size, but USDJPY's quote currency is yen. ¥1,000 is about $6.67 at 150.00, while EURUSD's $10 is already in dollars.
What is the pip value of 0.01 lot?
One hundredth of the 1.00-lot value: $0.10 per pip on EURUSD, $0.10 per 0.10 move on gold with a 100-ounce contract.
Do I need a live exchange rate?
Only when the instrument's quote currency differs from your account currency. Enter today's price of the linking pair for an exact result; the default is an example rate.
